With A Handful of Henna, Srilankan playwright Rani Moorthy takes us into the world of women migrants in Northern England. A mother and daughter, Saheeda and Nasreen visit Saheeda’s homeland. The woman wishes to discover her roots, but also to introduce her daughter to where she comes from. This homecoming, which takes on universal connotations, is full of emotion, bitter and sweet at the same time.
